Converting a company on SAAS server (Abe) - from old /u/ccr.xx to new version - with it's own environment

  1. Edit the file /etc/group and add an entry (use their company name in lower case) at the bottom. Increment the last used GID by 1.
    sarissa:x:3239:ccc,lp,monavale,annan,mos
    zebra:x:3240:ccc,lp,zebra1,zebra2,zebra3,zebra4,zebra-canberra,zebra-tracey urban:x:3241:ccc,lp,uclp,ucmt,uclk,ucho temples:x:3242:ccc,lp,temples1,temples2,temples3 company:x:3243:ccc,lp,john,luke,matthew
  2. Make sure lp, ccc, cc2 and jon are members of this new group.
  3. Create company environment directory under /u - mkdir cc{company}.
  4. under new directory create links to relevant revision directories: std, binl, binx11, lib, manual, pixmap, standard

  5. Copy Company directories (including test company) and adm directory from its original source (this is important so they retain all their terminal numbers)
    cd /u/cc{company}
    cp -a /u/ccr.
    /<COMPANYNAME> . <---Repeat this for every company in their "group".
    cp -a /u/ccr.nn/adm ./
  6. As root cd into /u/cc{company} and enter the following commands
    #chgrp -R {company} .
    #find . -type d -exec chmod 770 {} \;
  7. Change environment to new company:

    export CCDIR=/u/cc{company}
    . /u/ccr.nn/usr/common.h
  8. Conset to DEMO
  9. ln -s std/binx11/coaad contrl
  10. Create <COMPANY> using contrl

  11. Create directory usr. Copy /u/ccr.xx/usr/common.sh into this directory. Edit it so that CCDIR is set to /u/cc{company} .
  12. Conset to <COMPANY>

  13. add user via addusr
  14. Modify ~username/.vnc/xstartup to call /u/cc{company}/usr/common.sh
