Gift Vouchers
Control's gift voucher system does not make gift vouchers into stock items, instead they are considered as transactions this allows us to bypass some restrictions with the way stock is handled. Gift vouchers can be created through the menu in a standard sieat program, and stores can further customise the implementation through options present in tecont.
tecont options effecting gift vouchers are:
- Change allowed on gift vouchers? This selection specifies if a gift voucher is redeemed for less than its value, whether control will allow the customer to claim against the remaining amount.

- Unused part of gift voucher makes a new gift voucher? This option depends on '1.', so if CONTROL is allowed to return change on a gift voucher it will create a new gift voucher worth the unused amount on the debited voucher.

Allow multiple redemption's of gift vouchers? This option depends on '1.' being Yes, and '2.' being No. If those conditions are met the customer will get to use the same voucher until it no longer has any remaining value.1

- Ensure gift voucher exchanges are for equal value? Forces CONTROL to reject gift vouchers that aren't fully spent on tenders.

Summary totals on gift vouchers are self-contained and divided up into: gift voucher sales, gift vouchers issued as change (possibly not used), gift voucher cancellations, gift voucher redemptions. These summary totals do not mix with stock summary totals. Gift voucher summary totals can be divided up by branch.
Gift voucher transactions can be viewed through salstr's menu options, and when tendering gift vouchers with multiple redemption's the balance gets printed on the docket if 40 col mode was being used.
