Laser Printers

For a laser printer to be fully compatible with Control, it should be PCL-compatible. This means that it needs to be able to process PCL without the need for Windows/Linux drivers.

If a laser printer is not PCL compatible, all may not be lost. You will need to set the printer type to be a X11 printer in prnaad and use the appropriate CUPS/LPD drivers. You will also lose the ability of the software to automatically switch to landscape mode when printing reports.

A simple Google search with the keywords "PCL" and <printer model> should reveal if a printer is PCL compatible.
