Restoring a Maximizer Database
On Sam:
- Get a backup tape of Sam that has a known god copy of the database.
Untar it the appropriate folders (/u/Database/Maximizer/MxData/<AddressBook>) into /u2 (or somewhere else that has free space).
- Close off all copies of Maximizer on all terminals
Rename /u/Database/Maxmizer/MxData/<AddressBook> to /u/Database/Maxmizer/MxData/<AddressBook>.bak
- Copy backed-up Address Book data into place
Delete the file /u/Database/Maxmizer/MxData/<AddressBook>/~PVSW~.LOC
On Maximizer (the computer):
- Go to Start
- Go to Programs
- Go to Pervasive
- Go to Pervasive.SQL 2000i
- Go to Utilities
- Go to Gateway Locator
Set the target directory to the local directory of the address book data (C:\MaxData\AddrBks\<AddressBook>)
- Click on Change
- Assign the gateway to Maximizer
- Click OK
- Click Refresh
- Click Exit
On a workstation:
Test to see if it worked. If it doesn't, check the forums on MaxTalk.com or call Maximizer.
Note: Maxmizer does not officially support Maximizer Enterprise 7.5
