Setting Up a VNC Terminal
At each terminal, you will need to:
download the VNC Viewer from http://customers.creativecomputing.com.au/vnc/VNC-Viewer-5.2.1-Windows-32bit.exe and http://customers.creativecomputing.com.au/vnc/ccicon.ico
- create the dir in C:\Program Files(x86)\RealVNC\ and save the 2 files in it
- Run VNC-Viewer.exe
In the VNC server input box, type <Server-IP>:X, where X is either 6,7,8,etc. Make sure that each terminal is assigned a different value for X.
- Click on the "Options" button.
- Choose "Scale to windows size"
- At the bottom of the screen, set the Menu Key to F12
- Press OK
- Press Connect
- Type in the VNC password
- They should now be connected.
- In the top left-hand corner of the window, there should be an icon with the word VNC. Click on it to reveal a drop-down menu.
- Select "Options". It should be near the bottom of the menu.
- Go to the tab called "Inputs"
- Change the "Menu Key" to F12
- Go to the tab called "Load/Save"
- Press "Save As"
- Change the name of the file to CONTROL and save it to C:\Program Files(x86)\RealVNC\
- When asked about saving the password, select YES.
- right click the CONTROL.vnc file and choose to open it with the viewer.exe program
- create a shortcut of the CONTROL.vnc file in the desktop
- Change the picture to be the ccicon.ico .
- rename Name the shortcut to Control
- To close the VNC window, click on the close button in the top right-hand corner.
- To re-connect to CONTROL, double-click on the icon named Control
NOTE: This only sets up the terminal to connect to the CONTROL server via VNC. It does not setup printers or any peripherals.
