Processing Type

If the field is not required, leave it clear to disable. Any characters, apart from the characters below, may be used as selection characters for reports as desired by your individual requirements.

1 – The Number 1 - This is used to force the entry of either the qty of 1 or 0 during a sales/order transaction.

C - Consignment - Items used to represent stock purchased by consignment. When "Generate consignment stock invoices" are run, an invoice is generated for the amount of stock sold. Consignment stock can be stock controlled that is, a delivery docket is received and a stock receipt is entered. If the supplier sends a representative to fill the stock on the shelf, stock control may not be necessary. If this is the case, ensure that stock is also marked "statistical" so it does not show negative quantities on hand.

D - Discontinued - Items that will not be reordered when their stock level reaches zero. You can not enter manual purchase order for these items either. These items can be displayed during a partial code query.

G - Gross - Items used to represent that only a gross price is required to be entered. The quantity is then worked out by the gross price divided by the selling price. For example, this may be used when selling Petrol.

I - Inactive - Marks the product as inactive and cannot be sold. Once these items reach zero quantity on hand, they will not be displayed in a partial code query. You can, however, type in the item code and the item will be displayed.

L- Loyalty - This is used for loyalty cards

M - Miscellaneous - Items used to represent a department or group of items where individual stock item stock control is not required and where a constant mark-up is assumed for all items represented by the departmental item. This type may be used as a miscellaneous product code as the cost is calculated back from the selling price by applying the stock item mark up in reverse.

N – Note - This item can only be used to record a note during a transaction.

P – Price List - If items are nominated with a P they will appear on the price list report

S – Scaleable - CONTROL will look for the sale quantity to come from an integrated scale.

W – Whole Number - Cannot sell fractions of this product e.g. 0.25, 1.5 etc.
