If your binarylane VM starts acting up

Log in to binarylane web control panel. Make a note of the specs of the machine that is acting up.

At this point customer should stop using the current server.

Click on "New Cloud Server"

• Choose the same state as original server
• Select BYO ISO
• Put in the same amount of RAM and Hard Disk storage.
• Set up the same backup settings (2 weekly, 2 daily)
• Agree to terms of service and refund policy

Click on "Complete Purchase"

Go back to the main "mpanel" page

Make a note of the hostname of your new host. Go to your webmin DNS: https://li843-247.members.linode.com:10000/

go to creativecomputing.com.au, and change the CNAME for the host that's acting up to your new hostname, it would be in the format <new-name>.bnr.la.

click on activate zone. query from an external host and make sure your changes applied to both: muppets.creativecomputing.com.au. ns2.afraid.org.

Go back to your binarylane mpanel. Click your VM that's acting up. scroll down to bottom and click on the time to the right of "last backup".

select your last backup from the list. Click "clone from selected". Pick your new host from the list. This will make a copy of the server from your backup. For 350 gigs of data, this should only take about 10 minutes.

• copy up to date data. On new host:

  sync -avxz root@<old_host_ip>:/u/ /u/ hostname -> /etc/sysconfig/network
