Setting up a Customer Display
A customer display (also known as a pole display) will show the Last item entered (or scanned) into the sales program.
It is similar to setting up a printer. Follow directions on: InstallingPrinter. Test your config by trying to print to this queue. It should work the same way even if the display is shared over the network (smb, cups).
On the terminal settings, you need to set up 2 lines.
Customer display type Customer display port
Customer display type is dependent on the language the display supports. Customer display port is the name you gave the printer.
Settings for Senor displays
Senor Customer displays by default use type 10 (ESC/POS). On displays built into most of their POS computer systems, this would be on COM1 or /dev/ttyS0. Speed would be 9600,8N1 no flow control.
To remove the built in Senortech website and address that appears on the display when the unit is first turned on, Switch dip switch number 11 off.
Setting up a scrolling display
Senor Customer displays can be set up to do Citizen emulation and supports scrolling on the first line up to 40 characters.
Stock note would have to be added for this (stiaad). Make sure there are only 2 lines. First line up to 40 characters, 2nd line up to 20 characters.
Then run sscont. On page 9 nominate this stock note in "Notes code for customer display"
Don't forget to set up the terminal correctly (type should be Citizen)
To set up the display unit itself, remove 2 screws to detach the customer display from the main unit, then remove 14 screws to open up the display (the last one is under the hinge). Set the dip switches: 1,2,3,8 and 12 OFF, the rest On. (Don't forget switch 11 off for no Senor advertising)
