Setting up a Customer Display

A customer display (also known as a pole display) will show the Last item entered (or scanned) into the sales program.

It is similar to setting up a printer. Follow directions on: InstallingPrinter. Test your config by trying to print to this queue. It should work the same way even if the display is shared over the network (smb, cups).

On the terminal settings, you need to set up 2 lines.

Customer display type
Customer display port

Customer display type is dependent on the language the display supports. Customer display port is the name you gave the printer.

Settings for Senor displays

Senor Customer displays by default use type 10 (ESC/POS). On displays built into most of their POS computer systems, this would be on COM1 or /dev/ttyS0. Speed would be 9600,8N1 no flow control.

To remove the built in Senortech website and address that appears on the display when the unit is first turned on, Switch dip switch number 11 off.
