SETUP STANDARD WINDOWS DESKTOP FOR CRECOM USER
Install the operating system. ( eg Winxp, Vista etc )
1. Put the operating system CD in the CD ROM drive and restart the computer. 2. Press any button to boot from the CD.
- (Note : Option 2 might not show up in all PC, if so go to setup as soon as computer restart and set the boot priority 1 as CD.
3. Follow the instruction till it ask you for partition. Choose the right option to do partition because it will completely wipe out your hard drive. 4. It is better to make atleast 2 partition. One as C:\ around 30GB and another D:\ for whatever space left after creating C: partition. 5. Select the NTFS quick format which will format your partitions. 6. Select C:\ to install your windows. 7. After few minutes of installation it will ask you to put Name and organition name.
- Name : Username ( Note: if the machine was given somename already use the same name)
Org : CreCom
8. Give the standard password for administrator. ( Ask administrator if you don't know) 9. Follow the instructions and change the right time/date and daylight saving etc. 10.After the installation is complete computer will restart. 11.Fix the resolution of your computer by right click anywhere in desktop. Then go to setting tab and resize your desktop screen. 12.Right click My computer icon and go to properties. Go to Hardware tab and Click on Device manager. Make sure you do not have anything with Yellow ? sign. That means you have install additional drivers for you hardware. In that case you might need to find the CD that came with the computer or find it on the web for drivers. 13.Supposing that we have all drivers installed, we will first give IP address to your computer.
- To do this -
- Right click My Network Places and go to properties. Inside there you will see computer icons called Local Area network Right click that Local Area Network and click on properties Highlight Internet Protocol and click properties button Put the IP address and rest of the information as per administrator
(Note : use the ip address between 192.168.1.1 -84, ip address from 85 are used for others)
- Click close and make sure you can go to internet and access server and stuff
14. On the lower right hand side you will see the small key like icon. Double click the icon and register your copy of operating system with microsoft.
INSTALL MICROSOFT OFFICE
1. Pop the Microsoft office software CD in your CD ROM and run the install 2. All other office package will be install and use except Microsoft outlook you have to setup. 3. After office package install click on Microsoft outlook. 4. Select POP3 for email type. 5. Follow instruction and fill in required boxes.
- Username / password / email address SMTP : 192.168.1.196 POP3 : 192.168.1.196
6. Click on button called more setting and go to connection tab 7. Check the box to leave the copy of email in server. 8. Click OK and you should be OK to send and receieve email.
INSTALL AEGIS
- Map a drive in your computer.
- Open My computer icon
- Click on Tool menu
- Click on Map Network Drive
- Select any drive letter except g:
For folder address put \\sam\u\apps\aegis7.12_setup
- Run mdac_type.exe
- Open \\maximizer and log in so that you can specify directories in this server.
- Run setup.exe
Select client install and when asked for server component type in \\maximizer\aegisserver . Follow the rest of instruction.
After restart copy the aegissn.ini file from \\sam\u\apps\aegis7.12_setup\zips\AegisLic.zip to your local C:\aegis folder
Also copy aegis.ini file from \\sam\u\apps\aegis7.12_setup to your local C:\aegis folder
- Now run aegis and register for new user.

- Download and install putty from web.
INSTALL VNC VIEWER
Download and install vnc viwer from http://www.realvnc.com or http://tightvnc.com
