Polling Check
There are several programs that have been written so we can verify data at Branches compared to Headoffice.
Transaction can be checked via running tranck - and running option 2 - count transaction and comparing this to Headoffice.
To check file maintenance we use the signature program aadrep

- Category File Signatures
- Debtor Signatures
- Creditor Signatures
- Salesperson Signatures
- Colour Signatures
- Size Signatures
- BOM Signatures
The polling check has been automated in a couple of scripts - at the branches a script called chk_tran is run nightly at about 11pm, this script runs tranck and signature programs and saves the files in the polling report directory - which gets sent back to HO with the next polling run.
At HO another script is run check_rep at about 3am in the morning this goes through the polling directories looking for any polling reports, it then extracts the transaction summary and signature files and compares these by running the same options in the transaction and signature files.
The difference between the two files is saved in the $CCDIR directory = called check.xxxxx
In theory there should be no difference between the two.
