Troubleshooting a live connection
The connection is down
- Check the ADSL or LINK lights are on on the modem.
- Check your network is working. Check that the lights on the network switch (hub) match up to the numbers of the cables on the back
symptoms:
- Program won't work
- Can't print
- Can't open cashdrawer
- Can't check email
VPN is down
- restart the computer (exit programs, Ctrl + Alt + F1 then Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
Cashdrawer will not open
(Serial or Parallel cashdrawer)
- Restart the cashdrawer by disconnecting the power plug and then plugging it back in.
(Printer cashdrawer)
- unplug and plug back into the printer the cashdrawer
- Restart the printer (turn it off and on)
Printer will not print
- Check that paper is loaded
- Check the printer is on
- Restart the printer (turn it off and on)
